With 48,000 tonnes of furniture waste created annually, sustainable design has never been more important. Young adults are increasingly constrained by space, face rising overheads and reduced living options. Over 70% now work from home. Lean, in form and style, is a modular design that accommodates various permutations and combinations to suit the mercurial needs of the user. Owners simply add or subtract components to suit their work set up. Sustainably fabricated from reclaimed timber, Lean deploys simple joinery methods that enable relocation, rearticulation, resizing or replacement of parts. Lean is the future of furniture design – it supports our people and our environment.
Lean uses entirely sustainable materials in its construction. Consisting of Vic Ash reclaimed from a demolished chicken coop, reclaimed Blackbutt, Maxi-film sustainable melamine coated plywood and recycled pine.
